Yesterday, the first industrial building constructed at the Southwest European Logistics Platform (PLSWE or PLSE) was inaugurated. The objective of this logistics platform is to serve as a central hub for the industrial sector, enabling it to reach the most important ports in Europe at the lowest cost and with the greatest possible speed and efficiency.
The largest frozen food storage plant ever built Monliz Spain It is ready to begin storing and distributing 40,000 tons of its products throughout Europe and is located in Badajoz, Extremadura. This 11,000-square-meter warehouse operates with high-tech systems that function at low temperatures regardless of the outside ambient temperature.
For an installation of this type, it's important to consider that, by its very nature, it operates at -25 degrees Celsius. Conventional systems simply don't function at those temperatures. The major technological challenge for Horizon and the Azulae Group has been to create a robust solution capable of operating in that environment.
We have found an ideal solution that not only works at -25 degrees below zero, but is also capable of withstanding peaks of -40ºC, is submersible and resistant to abrasive products.

A €20 million industrial modernization project required Horizon as its technology partner throughout the various development phases. Horizon successfully mitigated risks and resolved issues efficiently within the established timeframe, refining every detail to bring the facility fully operational.
Industry 4.0 projects promote connectivity, real-time analytics, and agile, data-driven decision-making. Monliz expects to increase sustainability, energy savings, and recycling, thereby improving the efficiency of its processes through this investment and introducing high value-added products to the market.
The attendance of the authorities at this meeting is a clear example of the financial, administrative and moral support of the local and regional authorities, along with the announcement by the mayor of Badajoz regarding the offer of a package of tax measures for companies that locate in the Logistics Platform.
The meeting was attended by the President of the Regional Government of Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara; the Mayor of Badajoz, Francisco Javier Fragoso; and the Government Delegate, Yolanda García.
Seco, the director of the Belgian group's plant in Badajoz, Pablo da Rold; the CEO of CROP'S, Michel Delbaere; and the CEO of ARDO, Bernard Haspeslagh, the two parent companies; along with other authorities and guests.
How the Industry 4.0 Can it revolutionize the world of computing so much?
